Richard is a co-founder and Partner of Triangle Capital and has been an investment banker for over 35 years. Richard has a great deal of experience advising clients in merchandising businesses, particularly in the Retail & Consumer sector. Richard is an often-quoted expert on the retail and merchandising industries. He is a Contributor to Forbes.com where he writes a regular blog about trends in retail and consumer product businesses. He also appears regularly in print and other media as well as industry panels and speaking programs.
Before co-founding Triangle, Richard was a Managing Director at a boutique investment banking firm called Financo, Inc. While at Financo, Richard was responsible for a majority of the firm’s apparel industry transactions. Prior to joining Financo, Richard was a Partner and First Vice President at Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. At Drexel, Richard was responsible for a group of 14 professionals doing middle-market mergers and acquisitions around the world.
Richard is the co-author of three books on finance and computer programming. He is formerly an Adjunct Assistant Professor of International Business at the graduate program of the Stern School of Business at York University.
Richard received a BS in Accounting from New York University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Harvard University. Richard is married and lives in New York.

Darren Adams
Darren Adams, Global Director for Digital Propositions at Unilever, leads the development and long-term evolution of the digital propositions team within Unilever. The team is focused on the digital transformation of the organization as it relates to consumer facing propositions, across the three divisions, including Home Care, Beauty and Personal Care and Food and Refreshment. His global team based in China, India, Netherlands and the US are leading the way in building new digital services and digital business models and the inherent assets and technologies required to deliver this.
Darren joined Unilever in 2021, and prior to Unilever spent several years with Philips in the Netherlands and US as the Managing Director – Strategy, Marketing and Operations, within the Philips Ventures team. He was responsible for the creation of the Philips HealthWorks group and its inherent acceleration and investment programs, which established a large portfolio of start-ups and solutions as well as successful collaborations across the business.
Prior to Philips Darren has held numerous Leadership roles across the globe in organizations that have spanned Online and eCommerce, Mobile Technology, Telecommunications, Banking and Insurance and Health. In these various roles Darren’s focus has been on the creation of new businesses, market expansion and digital transformation. A prime example was the creation of an ecommerce mobile telecommunications services business that generated $250M in revenue after two years.
Additionally, Darren has been the founder of several startups, predominantly SaaS based businesses which have had successful exits. As an investor and executive team member he has seen several other startups through multiple rounds of funding.
Darren holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Economics and Marketing) from Deakin University and an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.
Darren is currently based in Boston where he lives with his wife and two daughters.

Mr. Liu is the Senior Vice President and General Manager at Perfect Corp.
Mr. Liu has been in his current position since June 2015. He has built the ground work for Perfect by recruiting key talent, establishing partnership with beauty brands, retailers such as L’Oréal, Estee Lauder, Target and other highly inferential organizations.
Prior to Perfect Corp, Mr. Liu joined Perfect’s parent company CyberLink in 2009. He was responsible for key partner development, sales strategy and business growth. He grew several multi-million dollars global OEM accounts and managed heavy weight industrial partners for such as Lenovo, Intel, Qualcomm, Time Warner., Comcast, DirecTV …
Mr. Liu has worked in various engineering and marketing management position at Intel, Broadcom and NVIDIA before joining Cyberlink.
Mr. Liu graduated from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan in June 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He completed his Masters of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University in June 1994. After receiving Master Degree, he continued pursuing advanced study by attending Electrical Engineering Ph.D. program at University of Southern California. Later, in order to learned more business knowledge, he earned his MBA Degree in Finance from Santa Clara University in June 2011.

Ming S. Zhao
Ming has a natural gift for business and discovery. Prior to founding Proven, she was the head of business development at NerdWallet, a private equity investor at Bain Capital and a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. She holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and is certified in cosmetic formulation.
Ming has lived and worked in numerous regions around the world, including China, India, Austria, Rwanda, Hong Kong and the United States, and has absorbed the beauty and wellness wisdom from her wanderings. She is also a 3rd generation entrepreneur - her grandfather became a baker/ entrepreneur after trekking 1200 miles on foot to escape a famine. Her father, similarly, made the journey to America from China to expand his computer literacy school, in the process immigrating the family and the then 12-year-old Ming to the US.

Agustina Sartori is the Sr Director of Innovation Experiences & the Managing Director of Prisma Ventures, the technology fund of ULTA Beauty. She joined Ulta Beauty in 2018 after the company’s acquisition of GlamST, the company she was CEO and Founder, to help develop AR experiences that combine augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technologies such as GLAMLab. In her dual role at Digital Innovation, she leads a team of engineers, designers, and beauty enthusiasts that develops and experiments with guest-facing emerging technologies to create differentiated guest experiences. She also Managing Director of the newly launched Prisma Ventures. The fund officially launched mid 2022, a Venture Fund, to invest in early-stage startups in the retail technology space. A San Francisco resident, Agustina is originally from Uruguay where she received her Telematics Engineering degree from the University of Montevideo. Throughout her career, she has successfully raised significant capital, went through 500 Startups, Startup Chile and Plug and Play, is an Endeavor entrepreneur, and worked with world-class brands such as L’Oreal, Estee Lauder, Dufry, Clarins, and Neiman Marcus, among others.

She worked at Givaudan for 6 years in roles ranging from Sales Support to Marketing Manager in Personal Care (deodorants, skin care, toilet tissue) and Home Care (dish care, air care, all-purpose cleaners) categories. She has now been at BASF for nearly 5 years, beginning as the Marketing Manager for all Personal Care categories in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. She now acts as Project Manager in the U.S. for Ingredient Traceability in which she implements end-to-end traceability strategies for personal care products within BASF’s Care Chemicals Division. Yashi Shrestha is Head of Science & Research at Novi, which is leveraging technology to enable increased ingredient transparency across the value chain and bring more sustainable products to market through its ingredient sourcing and vetting platform.
As the Head of Science & Research, Yashi is responsible for the scientific roadmap and strategy for Novi. Her role includes working closely with retailers, brands, formulators, contract manufacturers, and raw material suppliers to keep Novi’s platform current with the latest available data, new innovations and trends, and emerging policies and standards.
Yashi believes that the future of product development lies with each stakeholder taking accountability for decisions made at every point in the product development cycle, starting at the design phase. Sustainability can only be achieved by unlocking access to data, which allows tracking, measuring, and making informed decisions, and ultimately development of more sustainable products that considers responsible sourcing, end-of-life fate, human health & environment safety, and net positive impact on the planet.
